Headstrong 03:49
Standing there, Looking down at the pavement, And once again you’ve lost track of the time. Did it go wrong? Or were we just headstrong? And dealing with self-doubt, But you need to be reminded of the fact that you’re still young, And there’s still time to work things out. But as I lie awake, Staring up at the ceiling, And thinking about how I managed to fuck this up again, I don’t sound like Springsteen, I don’t look like James Dean, And every now and then I feel a little bit insecure, About being headstrong. Waiting round, For the right time to mention, That it’s not your fault but I don’t think it’s mine. Did it go wrong? Or were we just headstrong? It’s easier with time, But you never stopped to ask yourself, Just what’s the point of wasting time, On things that you can’t change? But as I lie awake, Staring up at the ceiling, And thinking about how I managed to fuck this up again. I don’t sound like Springsteen, I don’t look like James Dean, And every now and then I feel a little bit insecure, About being headstrong, About being headstrong, About being headstrong, About being headstrong.

about

Headstrong by Max Richardson

This is my own slice of alt pop nonsense, a style I've been playing around with a bit over the past few weeks.

This is self-produced, mixed, and mastered - and is based around a riff written on the software emulation of the legendary Prophet synth, as a bit of a tribute to the legendary Dave Smith.

The lyrics deal with insecurity and imposter syndrome. The track is inspired by a bit of a mixture of sources, but there's a lot of Damon Albarn in there, with a dash of Jarvis Cocker!
